The concept for this illustration started with a dream that I had. All I remember is being in a building with a hallway and different doors, and everything looking completely normal until one door was opened. Outside of that door was a long drop down. Nothing else, just step outside and plummet to your doom. Luckily I didn’t go through the door. I’m not sure if this dream meant something, but it could be interpreted as a representation of my anxiety issues. Whenever I leave home, my social- and general anxiety increase tremendously. It sometimes even feels like a physical compression of my chest and stomach. That’s represented here by making outside the door be literally outer space: it’s difficult to get to and even more difficult to survive in.
