These are the costumes that I wore to Ropecon 2017.
Ilana as Heart of Titan
The first is Ilana’s “Heart of Titan” costume from Sym-Bionic Titan, which is one of my favourite animated series. I think it is criminally underrated since it is really brilliant! Genndy Tartakovsky, who is more famous for Dexter’s Lab and Samurai Jack, is a co-creator of it. Anyone who’s into mechs and sci-fi should definitely give it a shot.
Media: Stretchy fabric, cardboard, plastic, yellow film, silver film, and other craft materials.
The second costume is Hekapoo from Star vs. the Forces of Evil. I love Star vs. the Forces of Evil so much, and I wanted to cosplay a less commonly cosplayed character. While Star’s outfits are incredible, I didn’t think I’d be able to do her justice. Hekapoo is my favourite secondary character and one that I thought I would be able to pull off, hence the Hekapoo cosplay!
Media: Fabric, dye, vinyl, wire, stuffing, scissors, plastic, and other craft materials.
